In the article, "What Should a Billionare Give" written by Peter Singer, he is for the thought that philanthropy is a moral obligation. He highlights when Bill Gates said, "people will finally accept that the death of a child in the developing world is just as tragic as the death of a child in the developed world." The importance of this is that kids everywhere should be taken care of. The poor children need food, water, clothes, and shelter just as much as the kids who expect to have it. Bill Gates gives money to this thought, and has started a foundation. The children of this world are very important, and the should provided for. They are the future. In the article, it said that "Last June the investor Warren Buffet took a significant step toward reducing those deaths when he pledged $31 Billion dollars to the Gates foundation." The rich should give what they can to help those who need it. Helping people should be a top priority like it is for Gates, and Buffet. They care about the world, and the future. You don't have to give money to be philanthropic, you can provide anything that is needed. Whether it be food, shelter, or someone to talk to. Make an obligation, to be helpful. Be philanthropic.

    Baseball Fields Make Memories

Fresh cut grass, the usual community baseball fans eating handful after handful of sunflower seeds, and the clock striking four. Also known as game time. I quickly open up my bad and obtain my black and white NIKE baseball gloves. Putting on my helmet I pick out my weapon of choice. The Anderson Techzilla.
After two quick runners on base, it is my turn to step up to the plate and do my job. I placed my right foot in and followed was my second one. I swayed the bat back and forth as a reminder to myself to keep calm, and relax. Pow. Ball 1. The ball had hit the mit and was nowhere close to the strike zone. I readjusted myself ready for the next pitch. As the pitcher went through his motion, I got this feeling deep down inside. The ball was in the air,and right in my zone a focused on the ball swung hard, and it sailed over the fence.
My first home run as a 12 year old. I'll never forget Fitzugh Park.
I went on to hit three more home runs that game. Back to back to back to back. The first time that it had ever happened in Batesville All Star history.
Almost a year later, I find myself in Kansas City, Missouri for the 13 year old world series. We had mad it there from winning a certain amount of tournaments and being one the best team in Arkansas.
8:00 a.m. We are at the field, mildew on the grass. Not another soul was there besides our team and our competition. Its game time now, and I'm more than ready. The stands are now packed for the first game of the world series. My turn to bat. I'm anxious and at the same time scared out of my mind. I go through my usual routine, right foot dug in where I'd like and followed by my left. I remind myself to stay calm, do me, and have fun. The first pitch is thrown, I load my left leg, get my hands back, foot down and turn on the first pitch I saw. It was a home run that towered over the field and one that everyone thought was going to splash in the pond. All of a sudden, the ball, still rising, strikes the light pole and rebounds an estimated 20 feet back onto the field. As I round third base, I look at my coach. He gives me a handshake accompanied by a smile, and a kindhearted "Atta boy." I'll never forget it.
Two seasons, two birthdays, and two summers afterward, I'm playing baseball with my showcase team in Houston, Memphis. We go by the name of Arkansas Royals, wearing the colors of royal blue and white. We are playing in a major tournament with some of the best teams around. So exciting.
Its the top of the 7th, our team is down by one run with no outs. The 9 spot hitter reaches base with a walk, and is pinch ran for because he is our pitcher. The next two players were supposed to do their best to get him all the way to third for me to try and tie it up. Things don't always go as planned. 2 batters, 2 strikeouts. So now its all up to me to try and tie it up with a runner on first with two outs. My knees are week, palms are sweaty. My arms seem as if the weigh 20 pounds each. I dig into the box, with same routine I had whenever I was 13. I'm focusing on not the present at bat, but the last ones I had when I wasn't successful. I inhale and exhale clearing my mind. The first pitch is thrown, high and tight dusting me off the plate. I'm more nervous than I've ever been. I readjust waiting for the next pitch. He winds up, and lets it go. Right in my wheelhouse, so I just trust my hands and let the bat do the work. Next thing I know the ball is sailing over the left field fence for a two-run go ahead  home run to give us the lead. We would go on to win the game. I can't even explain the excitement that I endured.
Playing the game of baseball is something some people do for fun. I do it not for just that reason but because its life, and it is what I love. I've played many places in my career, and each one leaves a special memory deep in my heart.

THE CATCH
On the 23rd of September the Green Bay packers played at Seattle against the seattle seahawks. Green Bay controlled most of the game, but at the end of the game the Quarterback for Seattle, Russell, launched a hail mary to the back of the endzone and was clearly picked off by Green Bay’s defensive back, M.D. Jennings and was ruled a catch and a touchdown by Golden Tate. The replacement refs seriously screwed over the Packers.
In this picture, it shows that there are two refs signaling different calls. One calling for a touchback, and a result in Green Bay football. And the other giving the touchdown call causing seattle to win. The play was reviewed and determined a catch. I honestly think that the replacement refs are just downright awful. They have been blowing calls ever since they have started reffing. And being a fan of the NFL, i care about how they are messing up and effecting play.
The sport of football has been major part of my life ever since i was in the the 3rd grade, and to see this precious game be destroyed by rookie refs, with no more experience than the high school is completely unacceptable and should be taken care of by the owners and supervisors of the NFL. And when I say this I’m sure I am speaking for most all of the of the fans of the NFL.

Facebook and Narcissism

The definition of narcissism is overly self involved to an extent where you can be considered cocky. You’re in love with yourself to a point to where its vain. In my article the questions is, “Does Facebook turn people into Narcissist?” Some may say yes, and others will disagree. Its an arguable topic that can go either way.

Facebook is a way to keep in touch of family members or close friends. And posting statuses and photos to let people know how you are doing. Lots of time has been devoted to facebook by many researchers to get a clear answer to the question. They gathered that the people who seemed the most narcissistic had tendencies that were easily shown. They would spend countless hours ours on facebook. Liking and tagging themselves as well as others in photo’s that they put up. They would digitally enhance their photo’s, making themselves look better. People who also frequently update their status with pointless things that nobody, besides theirself, would like reading about things they are doing they no one cares about. That’s the traits they found to make people seem narcissistic.

And then there are the people who narcissistic before facebook. Maybe they gloat about how blessed with good looks they are, or how many boyfriends girlfriends they get before obtaining a facebook. People are just that ways sometimes and nobody has told them that they are.
Either if they are narcissist before or become narcissist after signing up to facebook being a narcissist is simply wrong. The researchers say that facebook doesn’t make you narcissist as much as the other social network, Twitter. Mainly because they can tweet directly at themselves boosting their own confidence.
In the image, is a man named Narcisuss from the myth, Narcissus and Echo, The House of Cadmus. The man has seen himself in the water and has fallen deeply in love with himself instantly. It says "while he is drinking he beholds himseslf reflectednin the mirrored pool-and loves; loves an imagined body which contains no substance for he deems the mirrored shade a thing of life to love." I can tell its Narcisuss because he is paying no attention to the attractive women and looking at himself in the water, apalled with him own self.

1. Columbine- By Dave Cullen
The reason I would love to read this book is beacause I love to read about real life events. And the reasons for why people do the things they do. Also, its in great detail of what really happened. Explaining all the details, and the people involved in the shooting. Its mysterious and I cannot wait to read it.

2. This Present Darkness- By Frunk Peretti
This book could be considered Chrsitian book, but then again  it action and you never get that in a book. Some one recommended it to me and I considered it. It sounded really good according to all of the review. I am very excited to read it and see how the book turns out.

3. The Hunger Games- By Suzanne Collins
I had been wanting to read the series of these books for a while now. All of my friends and my girlfriend talk about how amazing they are and I want to find out by myself. I had to do a project related to these books last year in math and I had no idea what was going on. But I hope that these books will be a good read.

4.The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson)- By Rick Riordan
To me reading this book would not be a waster of time. It looks very enjoyable, and a fantastic read for me. Mainly because I like things that have to do with myths and Gods. And its a troubled boy in his early teen years at boarding school, being kicked out of  boarding school in fact.

5. Heat- By Mike Lupica
The book heat is a book about the sport of  baseball. I can relate to it so very well because baseball just happens to be my most favorite sport of all. Its about a pitcher who's very good for 12. He throws rather hard, and then is accused by jealous coaches and is suspended.

6.Heart of a Champion- By Carl Deuker
Relating everything in this book to the real life of a teenage baseball player makes me really want to read this book so bad. It just talks about all things that we face: competing, drinking, friendship, loss, and family. Its about two boys who meet another at a baseball park and after that their lives are changed forever because of their meeting.

7.Michael Jordan- By Robet Lipsyte
Jordan is known as the greatest player to ever play the game of basketball. He never gave up as a student in high school, not even making the team. But he stayed with and became the NBA. He is successful and a great role model to anybody, any age. Id love to read a book about him.

8.Mockingjay- By Suzanne Collins
I had been wanting to read the series of these books for a while now. All of my friends and my girlfriend talk about how amazing they are and I want to find out by myself. I had to do a project related to these books last year in math and I had no idea what was going on. But I hope that these books will be a good read.

9. Catching Fire- By Suzanne Collins
I had been wanting to read the series of these books for a while now. All of my friends and my girlfriend talk about how amazing they are and I want to find out by myself. I had to do a project related to these books last year in math and I had no idea what was going on. But I hope that these books will be a good read.

10.The Pefrect Shot- By Elaine Marie Alphin
This book is completely about basketball. And well of course the death of the main characters girlfriend.
Brian is in high school and is told to focus on basketball only after the death of his girlfriend. And he then finds out some important information that may lead the killer to come after him. This seems to be a really good and exciting book!
